And now a brief history lesson from Fresh! TV. No No this wont be some boring lecture on the war of 1812. This is about somethig we all actually care about…chiefly adult cinema. Just a short few years ago, the adult industry was besieged with Euro girls coming from across the pond. The influence of this massive influx of new talent changed the industry in profound ways. All of a sudden places like Czech Republic, Prague, and former The Soviet Union seemed like a goldrush of untapped potential. Many of these earlier arrivals have gone on to have not only lucrative careers but have become staples of the adult world. Names like Katja Kassin, Laura Angel, Sandra Romaine, Sophie Evans, Vivid Girl Dasha, Silvia Saint, Monica Sweetheart and numerous others began to crop up in a staggering amount of films. AVN wrote stories on this new wave of Euro talent and it was often described as an “invasion.” The influence that these new arrivals created a notable shift away from the previous boom of couples oriented films to more hardcore gonzo efforts. What seemed to be a common theme amoung these fresh starlets was not only the fact that so many of them seemed too hot for porn, but their willingness to do anything onscreeen became strikingly obvious. Next thing you know every director in the biz started clamouring to cast all this new talent. Since then the moniker Euro Girl is no longer synonomous with modelesque beauty and nasty preformances. Porn parodies of mainstream films have been around since…. well….since the first stag movies were ever made. Of course a simple play on words is often the chosen means of imitation. Say for example “The DaVinci Load” or “Muffy the Vampire Layer.” For those of you living in a secluded uni-bomber type shack or perhaps you are simply Amish, then put down your manifestos and butter churns and pay attention. Vice presidential hopeful Sarah Palin has surely made an impression on all of us. You Bethca! Hustler Films has announced it will be releasing “Nailin’ Paylin.” However that said, not all parodies really work nor are the majority of them entertaining. All too often the only thing good about many porn parodies are the names themselves. That said, there are the occasional gems out there like NOT THE BRADY’S XXX which recently premiered on Club Jenna and and a brand new world premiere movie called CAROLINA JONES AND THE TEMPLE OF POON, starring Adam & Eve Pictures Contract Stars Ava Rose and Bree Olson. This parody of Indiana Jones unfolds in the year 1957 and shot entirely on location in Budapest & Hungary. Carolina Jones, daughter of Indy Jones meets a naive country girl Dixie in a set of bizarre circumstances. Reluctantly, Carolina allows Dixie to tag along as they venture to find the lost Arc of the Covenant. Their explorations eventually lead them to the Middle East where they come face-to-face with the Arc and Clause Conrad, the man who plans to use its powers to control the world. All ends well of course when Indy comes to the rescue. I hope you will forgive us for not posting a spoiler alert, but then again we think you already may have known how this hit movie would end. CAROLINA JONES AND THE TEMPLE OF POON is a surprisingly funny and entertaining film. It doesn’t pretend to take itself too seriously and most importantly the sex scenes are far hotter than many or most feature related sexual vignettes. Bree Olson is a girlie we have fawned over numerous times before as well as the lovely Ava Rose. Both these starlets turn in fine performances not only in the sack but in their adventurous roles.
